Abstract
Searching and comparing semi-structured documents is an important, yet cognitively complex activity for the user. There has been some controversy as to how useful tag cloud visualizations are for information retrieval (i.e., browsing, searching, and summarizing). We propose that multiple synchronized tag clouds can support the visual analysis and filtering of query results of semi-structured documents. This summarization enables the user to refine queries and narrow the results to a more relevant set of documents. In this poster, we discuss our development and design approach, as well as preliminary results.
